India’s Sachin Yadav Stuns at World Athletics Championships, Outperforming Neeraj Chopra

In the World Athletics Championships 2025 held in Tokyo, Sachin Yadav emerged as a prominent javelin thrower for India. His performance surprised many. Although the event was expected to showcase the competition between Neeraj Chopra and Arshad Nadeem, Yadav’s achievement was remarkable. He secured fourth place, outperforming Neeraj Chopra. At just 25 years old, he achieved a personal best with a throw of 86.27m on his first attempt. Born on October 25, 1999, in Khekra, Uttar Pradesh, Yadav originally aspired to play cricket as a fast bowler, later shifting to javelin at 19 years old. His height of 6 feet 5 inches contributes to his success. He is inspired by cricketers Jasprit Bumrah and MS Dhoni. He earned a silver medal at the Asian Championships and a gold medal at the 38th National Games in Dehradun with a record throw of 84.39m. He also competed in the Neeraj Chopra Classic, finishing fourth with a throw of 82.33m. After the competition, Neeraj Chopra, who placed eighth, acknowledged Yadav’s performance, expressing his happiness and confidence in the future of Indian javelin.
