Lucknow Super Giants pulled off an impressive chase against Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025 at Ekana Stadium, winning by seven wickets on the back of Mitchell Marsh’s dynamic 90-run innings. Short of a century but securing Player of the Match, Marsh expressed delight at the outcome amid a tough season for LSG.

Speaking afterwards, Marsh said, ‘Great to get the win—such victories have been scarce for us this year, making it all the more satisfying.’ He highlighted the crucial 135-run opening stand with Jos Inglis over 70 balls: ‘A strong partnership; he really helps reduce the pressure on me.’

Marsh dismantled the target of 188 with ruthless strokeplay—seven sixes and nine fours in 38 balls—while Inglis made 36 off 32. Pooran (32* off 17) and Chaudhary (13* off 10) ensured a smooth finish. CSK batted first after losing the toss, scoring 187/5; Sharma top-scored with 71 off 42, featuring five sixes and six fours, with support from Dubey (32 off 16) and Brevis (25 off 16).

LSG’s Akash Maharaja Singh claimed 3/26. Playoff hopes dashed, this fourth win in 12 games places LSG 10th, boosting morale. CSK, now 6-6, falls to sixth. ‘Our group has fantastic people and promising youth—I’m enjoying it thoroughly, and all are contributing,’ Marsh enthused.
