Kieron Pollard continues to impress, achieving the fastest half-century in the CPL and replicating his earlier IPL brilliance. Pollard’s aggressive batting has not only reset the speed record in CPL history, but also equaled his best performance in IPL.
Playing against the Guyana Amazon Warriors, Pollard’s explosive innings at number six set a new standard for speed in the CPL. Pollard completed his half-century in just 17 balls, including five sixes. This feat surpasses his previous CPL record of 18 balls, set in 2018. He now ranks third in the CPL for the fastest half-centuries, behind Andre Russell (14 balls) and JP Duminy (15 balls).
Pollard’s innings included 54 unbeaten runs off 18 balls against the Guyana Amazon Warriors, achieving an impressive strike rate of 300. This innings included 5 sixes and 5 fours. Thanks to Pollard’s powerful batting, Trinbago Knight Riders scored 167 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their 20 overs.
