Sri Lanka opener Pathum Nissanka has examined optimistic for Covid-19 halfway by means of the sport. Sri Lanka were put in a commanding position by Dinesh Chandimal’s century on Day 3 as they looked to pull away from the game. Thoroughly dominating the third day, Sri Lanka built a lead of 67 runs, with four wickets still to go.

Sri Lanka cricket team have been going through a Covid-19 crisis of late. Three of their spinner who played in the first Test match, Jeffrey Vandersay, Dhananjaya de Silva and Asitha Fernando, were ruled out from the second Test match, including Praveen Jayawickrama who had been in line for a recall. Sri Lanka had to bring in the services of white-ball specialist Maheesh Theekshana, who had earlier troubled Australia in the ODI series.

Australia and Sri Lanka teams are staying at the same hotel, but the visiting team is yet to announce a Covid-19 infection.
