His journey has been shaped by challenges.
Initially, he practiced karate, taekwondo, wushu, and kickboxing, achieving national success in each. His pursuit of a more complete martial art led him to Kudo. His mother’s support and sacrifices were instrumental in his journey.
Training involved personal sacrifices, which were essential for his achievements. He won the Junior Kudo World Championship in 2017. He was a quarterfinalist in the 2023 Senior Kudo World Championship. He secured a bronze medal at the 2024 Euro-Asian Cup. He won the silver medal at the 2025 Senior Kudo World Cup. His performance in 2025 included victories over Pakistan, Bulgaria, and Lithuania before competing against France in the final.
He sees Kudo as a comprehensive martial art that requires a holistic approach. He stresses the importance of discipline, dedication, and mental strength. He believes champions are made in the moments when others aren’t watching.
Now, focused on the Asian Championship, Sohail credits Dr. Mohammad Aijaz Khan. His goal is to demonstrate that fighters from any background can reach the world stage with dedication and perseverance.
