A notable change has occurred within Team India, just ahead of the Asia Cup. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to release a support staff member who has been with the team for 15 years. The board will not be extending the individual’s contract. Following the previous departures of former batting coach Abhishek Nayar and strength and conditioning coach Soham Desai, another support staff member has been let go. This support staff member was considered to be an important member of the team and was present during the England tour, but massage therapist Rajiv Kumar will not be with the team during the Asia Cup.
