India’s top shooters delivered mesmerizing performances at the National Selection Trials 3 (Group A) in New Delhi. Divyansh Singh Pawar and Khyati Chaudhary triumphed in 10m air rifle categories, while Anish Bhanwala excelled in 25m rapid fire pistol at the NCR’s Dr. Karni Singh Range.
Pawar’s mastery shone in the men’s 10m air rifle final, where his 252.5 score crowned him champion among eight contenders. Parth Rakesh Mane’s 251.5 earned silver, and Shahu Tushar Mane’s 230.9 bronze, in a display of pinpoint accuracy.
The women’s final hinged on a heart-pounding shoot-off. Tied at 251.4, Khyati Chaudhary’s 10.9 trumped Mahit Sandhu’s 10.2. Mehwul Ghosh’s 230.1 completed the medal roster, captivating spectators.
Qualifying painted a picture of cutthroat competition. Men’s leader Dhanush Shrikant posted 633.2, trailed by Mahesh Babu Bathula (632.6). Himanshu Dhillon and Niraj Kumar tied at 632.1. Parth Mane (631.8), Divyansh Pawar (630.6), Shahu Mane (630.4), and Kiran Ankush Jadhav (630.3) made the cut.
In women’s, Mehwul Ghosh’s 633.4 led, with Sonam Uttam Maskar (633.2) and Tilottama Sen (632.0) next. Khyati (630.7), Mahit (629.7), and others Vidrasa K. Vinod (629.4), Sakshi Padekar (629.3), Isha Takasale (629.1) qualified.
Olympian Anish Bhanwala ruled the 25m rapid fire pistol T3 with 33 points. Rajkawar Singh Sandhu scored 31 for silver. Bronze went to Bhavesh Shekhawat after shoot-off win over Vijayveer Sidhu (both 29); Sidhu fourth at 23 hits.
Quals featured Bhavesh (583-17x), Rajkawar (581-20x), Adarsh Singh (580-15x), Anish (578-15x), Niraj Kumar (576-16x), Vijayveer (576-15x), Omkar Singh (575-18x), Pradeep Shekhawat (575-15x).
