Tokyo Olympics: Torch exhibition postponed resulting from worsening COVID-19 scenario

The exhibition of the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics torches throughout the better Tokyo space has been postponed as a result of worsening scenario of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government introduced in a press release on Thursday that the choice has been taken to “reduce the flow of people and the further spread of Covid-19”, Xinhua information company reported.
The torches have travelled to 14 locations since November 2 and have been scheduled to be exhibited on Thursday in Akiruno City. The exhibition has been postponed till January 29.

Other exhibitions may additionally be postponed since Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga has declared a state of emergency within the Tokyo metropolitan space together with Tokyo, Saitama, Chiba and Kanagawa prefectures, authorising more durable measures to combat a resurgence in Covid-19 infections.
The state of emergency can be efficient from Friday to February 7, with measures together with urging individuals to remain at residence and calling for eating places and bars to cease serving alcohol by 7 p.m. and shut by 8 p.m.
