Mohammad Rizwan has reportedly chosen not to sign his central contract with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the 2025-26 season, citing unmet demands. According to media outlets, the PCB has rejected the conditions put forth by the star cricketer, creating a stalemate. Despite this contract issue, Rizwan has been included in the Pakistan squad for the forthcoming ODI series against South Africa, slated to begin on November 3. This development occurs in the wake of the PCB’s new contract list, which saw Rizwan and Babar Azam demoted from Category A to Category B. The board has also announced that no players will be placed in Category A for this contract period. Rizwan’s recent captaincy change, where he was replaced by Shaheen Shah Afridi as ODI skipper, has also contributed to discussions about his standing. The ongoing talks between Rizwan and the PCB are being closely monitored, as they could impact future player relationships and team preparation for a busy international schedule.
