Mirabai Chanu brings a medal for India
Mirabai Chanu on Saturday, in a proud second for India, completed second within the 49kg class of weightlifting to safe a silver medal.
However, studies of Chanu being eligible for gold can also be making rounds since Monday. As per an ANI report, China’s Zhihui Hou who received the ladies’s 49kg weightlifting gold has been requested to endure a doping check by the authorities on the Tokyo Games. If Zhihui fails the check, it could make Mirabai the primary lady ever to win a Gold medal in weightlifting for India.
