Elon Musk’s Starlink is preparing to launch its satellite internet service in India within the next two months. The company recently secured a license from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), making it the third entity to receive such an authorization. Starlink plans to offer a free one-month trial to customers. The service is set to cost around ₹3,000 per month, with the satellite dish device priced at approximately ₹33,000. Starlink intends to provide high-speed internet to areas of India where traditional broadband is unavailable or unreliable. Its low Earth orbit satellite constellation will enable this. The pricing strategy will be consistent with neighboring markets. Starlink currently operates in over 100 countries and offers different service plans, catering to various needs. Previously, Starlink formed partnerships with leading Indian telecom operators Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel.
