Dantewada. Security forces got a big success in the encounter with Naxalites in Dantewada-Narayanpur border, in this operation the soldiers killed 31 Naxalites. After this success, Bastar Police IG Sundarraj P gave information about this operation in a press conference, in which he told that among the 31 Naxalites killed, 18 men and 13 women were included. Out of these, 14 Naxalites have been identified, while efforts are on to identify others. Naxalites carrying a reward of Rs 1 crore 30 lakh are also included in the killed Naxalites.

Bastar Police IG Sundarraj P said that Naxalites killed in this operation also included Naxalite Neeti alias Urmila, who was carrying a reward of Rs 25 lakh, who was a member of DKSZC and in-charge of East Bastar. Apart from this, DVCM carrying a reward of Rs 8 lakh and nine cadres of PLGA Company No. 6 were also killed in this encounter. So far 15 Naxalites have been identified, while others are being identified.

Weapons recovered during the encounter

Bastar Police IG Sundarraj P said that a joint team of security forces, which included DRG and STF of Dantewada and Narayanpur, carried out this operation. They had received confirmed information about the presence of Naxalites from East Bastar Division, PLGA Company No. 6, and Indravati Area Committee. After this the operation was started on 3 October and on the afternoon of 4 October an encounter took place in the Nendur-Thulathuli forest.

Dantewada Superintendent of Police Gaurav Rai said that after the encounter, there is an atmosphere of fear among the Naxalites of East Bastar Division. He appealed to the natives of the area to abandon Naxalism and join the mainstream of society. Inspector General of Police, Bastar Range, Sundarraj P. said that in the year 2024, the Naxalite organization has been dealt several major blows by the security forces.
