Big action once again in paddy shortage case: Shortage of 1582 quintals of paddy worth 49 lakhs confirmed in procurement center, FIR lodged against procurement in-charge

This is the reason why the department is on action mode and is taking swift action against those who embezzle paddy and commit irregularities. In this episode, a shortage of 1582 quintals of paddy worth Rs 49 lakh has been confirmed in the paddy procurement center Chhatan of Mungeli district, after which an FIR has been registered against Purnendra Yadav, in-charge of the paddy procurement center.

Let us tell you that a written report was filed by Virendra Tandon, manager of Cooperative Central Bank Limited Bilaspur branch Setganga, in which it is said that in the paddy procurement marketing year 2023-24, as per the instructions of the government, the work of paddy procurement was done from 1st November 2023 to 4th February 2024, but the lifting of paddy is still going on in the paddy procurement center Chhatan.

Embezzlement confirmed after investigation

On the basis of this report, under the direction of Assistant Commissioner of Cooperation Hitesh Kumar Shrivas, Cooperative Extension Officer, Development Block Mungeli and Branch Manager Setganga jointly investigated. In the investigation, it was found that a total of 1582 quintals of paddy was found missing at the paddy procurement center Chhatan, the value of which has been estimated at Rs 49 lakh 2 thousand (Rs 4904200.00). In this case, an FIR has been registered at Setganga police station against Purnendra Yadav, in-charge of paddy procurement center Chhatan.
