Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel plants saplings of guava, mango and bohar at his residence premise on World Environment Day

On the occasion of World Environment Day, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel planted saplings of guava, mango and bohar at his Raipur based residence premise.

Mr. Baghel appealed people of the state to plant at least one sapling in their house or in surrounding, and also take responsibility for nurturing the sapling. Any sapling can be planted whether of fruit or furniture wood or that of flower. This will improve our atmosphere, provide more oxygen and enhance greenery around.

Mr. Baghel said that Chhattisgarh is blessed to have 44% of the area covered in forest. Our ancestors had preserved these forests because they had known the importance of these natural resources. Our identity, our culture and our lifestyle is associated with the forest resources. If there were no plants or trees, the temperature would have increased uncontrollably, causing imbalance in the eco system, adversely impacting our lives. If the trees would have given wifi, people would have planted trees like never before, but they only provide oxygen. Oxygen is important for our lives. Today entire country is struggling with corona infection, not just the country but the entire world. In these circumstances, every person is realizing the importance of clean environment. Chhattisgarh has managed to preserve its forests and is committed to expand it further. On the occasion of Environment Day, Chief Minister appealed people to plant saplings and take responsibility of protect and nurture the same, so as to enhance greenery around and save environment.
