Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw met Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, discussed major schemes of various urban bodies of the state

New Delhi. Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Arun Saw met Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in New Delhi today. During this, he discussed the major schemes of various urban bodies of Chhattisgarh and requested to approve the necessary amount for these schemes. While discussing the state’s city development plans in detail, he also informed the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister about the progress of the central schemes being run here.

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban)

Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw, during a meeting with Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar at Shramik Shakti Bhawan in New Delhi, requested to approve 19,906 new houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) or under the BLC component (Beneficiary Led-construction) under the upcoming Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0.

Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) 2.0

Saw told Khattar that Chhattisgarh has sent an action plan of Rs 516 crore 20 lakh for solid waste management under Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) 2.0 to the Government of India for approval. A project proposal of about Rs 400 crore has also been sent to set up a 10 MW waste-to-electricity plant for disposal of dry waste in clusters of Raipur, Durg, and Bhilai bodies and Bilaspur, Ratanpur, Bodri, and Mungeli. Along with approving the amount for both these works, he also requested approval of about Rs 800 crore for setting up Integrated Solid Waste Management Facility in the remaining municipal corporations except Raipur and Bilaspur.

National Urban Digital Mission

Deputy Chief Minister Saw requested the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister to approve a grant of Rs 200 crore to make the entire functioning of urban bodies IT-enabled under the National Urban Digital Mission of the Government of India. He requested to include the newly formed 15 urban bodies of the state under Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) 2.0 and provide additional funds for solid waste management and waste water management projects.

Mission Amrit and Amrit 2.0

Sao urged to sanction additional funds for water supply schemes in other urban bodies along with the urban bodies included in Mission Amrit and Amrit 2.0. Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar assured to discuss Sao’s demands with the concerned officials and grant approval soon.
