Special Training for MLAs to Strengthen Leadership Skills
Raipur, March 22, 2025 / We may have differences of opinion, but there should be no differences of heart among us, and this has always been the case among the members of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly. The development of Chhattisgarh is our primary objective, and as representatives, we must always work with dedication for the welfare of the people of the state. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said this while addressing the inaugural session of the two-day Public Leadership Program organized for the members of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly at the Indian Institute of Management Raipur today.
There is No Age for Learning, Continuous Refinement in Leadership Skills is Essential
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi always talks about continuing to learn in his “Mann Ki Baat” program, and there is certainly no age for learning. There are many MLAs present here who have a long experience as representatives, but they are also very enthusiastic about this program. Shri Sai said that the presence of all of you proves how concerned and enthusiastic you are about the development of Chhattisgarh.
Shri Sai said that your behavior with the common people as representatives is your biggest asset, and it will further strengthen the trust of the people in you and the parliamentary system.
Training Program Useful in Sharing New Solutions and Achieving the Goal of Developed Chhattisgarh 2047
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that this Public Leadership Program is a strong platform for sharing new solutions and will prove useful and meaningful in achieving the goal of a developed Chhattisgarh by 2047. Chief Minister Shri Sai shared information about the efforts being made by the Chhattisgarh government to establish the concept of good governance. He said that the e-office system has increased administrative efficiency as well as transparency. The Chief Minister said that if we want to take the state forward, we have to be equally prepared to deal with all kinds of challenges. He emphasized the special use of technology in public interest.
Chief Minister Shri Sai also described the Chintan Shivir (Brainstorming Camp) organized at the Indian Institute of Management last year as extremely useful. He said that whatever we learned in the Chintan Shivir, we have used it extensively in the policy making of Chhattisgarh. It helped us a lot from the Vision Document to preparing the budget. The Chief Minister asked all the members of the Legislative Assembly to take full advantage of the two-day session and wished the Management Institute a successful event.
Addressing the Leadership Program, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh said that all the members participated actively in the budget session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly for about a month, and your presence in this two-day event immediately after that is commendable. He said, you must be thinking why our training after winning? After winning, our responsibility and role increases, so we should keep learning continuously. He said that we have to work not only for our area but also for the betterment of Chhattisgarh.
Dr. Singh said that how aware we are of the environment around us and the national and international scenario, this fact will be important in making you successful as a representative. He said that you should have the smallest information about your assembly constituency. Dr. Singh shared many experiences related to his tenure as Chief Minister and expressed his views on behavior with the public, connection, and winning their trust.
Leader of Opposition Dr. Charandas Mahant said that it would be a wrong notion to think that we have become leaders as soon as we become MLAs. Becoming a leader is a process and we have to learn it. He said that an tribal son from Jashpur has become the Chief Minister after coming out of adverse circumstances, this is the beauty and strength of our democracy. The main objective of all of us is the progress of Chhattisgarh and there is a need to move forward with this.
