Chhattisgarh Opens New Doors for Investment in the Textile Industry Sector – Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai

Said Chhattisgarh’s New Policy in the Textile Sector is the Best in the Country

Mumbai, April 23, 2025 – Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai today emphasized the possibilities of investment in the textile and apparel sector in the state by participating in the CMAI Fab Show 2025 held at the Bombay Exhibition Center in Mumbai. On this occasion, the Chief Minister interacted with investors and industrialists associated with the textile sector, inviting them to invest in Chhattisgarh, saying that we have opened new doors for investment in the textile industry sector. On this occasion, the Chhattisgarh government also signed an MOU with CMAI (Clothing Manufacturers Association of India). With this, Chhattisgarh has taken a step towards becoming an emerging center in the textile, garment and handloom sectors.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, while addressing the industrialists, said that recently we have approved the opening of the National Institute of Fashion Design in Nava Raipur in the cabinet. This institute, which will be built at a cost of Rs 271 crore, will boost the textile industry in Chhattisgarh. He said that the Kosa sarees of Champa are unique in their craftsmanship. The MOU with CMAI and the establishment of NIFT will greatly help in the branding and promotion of textiles like Champa’s Kosa.

He said that the textile industry is directly related to rural self-employment, technology and skill development. In the new industrial policy, we have tried to promote MSMEs related to the textile sector, keeping in mind all these facilities. We are giving special grants to enterprises that employ more than 1000 local people. Our government is reimbursing 252 crore in an investment of 100 crore. No state in the country has such a good policy in the field of textiles. Small and medium enterprises associated with the textile industry are benefiting from this. He informed that special concessions have been given for starting enterprises in areas like Bastar and Surguja.

He said that investment proposals are being approved very quickly due to single window system, ease of doing business and speed of doing business policies. With Ease of Doing Business, we have now moved towards speed and business. We have done more than 350 reforms and made the investment environment very easy.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai also visited the Chhattisgarh stall and took information. He said that efforts are also being made to connect our traditional handicrafts with the textile industry.

Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh Shri Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Subodh Singh, Secretary Shri Rahul Bhagat, Secretary of Industries Department Shri Rajat Kumar, Director Shri Prabhat Malik, Managing Director of CSIDC Shri Abhishek Agarwal and many senior officers were present in the program.

    Central India Location, Better Connectivity

The Chief Minister informed that our location in Central India provides you with the best connectivity across the country. Cargo facility has started at Raipur Airport from this year itself. Many important rail projects worth Rs 48 thousand crore are underway here. The expansion of the railway network will benefit the industry the most. The construction of the expressway from Raipur to Visakhapatnam is progressing rapidly. Our direct connectivity to ports like Visakhapatnam will greatly expand business in Raipur.
