Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone, inaugurate, and dedicate to the nation several development projects worth more than ₹33,700 crore.
Several power generation and transmission projects will be launched to strengthen the grid and increase power availability in Chhattisgarh.
Special attention will be given to the development of several rail and road projects to improve connectivity in Chhattisgarh, especially in tribal and industrial areas.
To boost education infrastructure in Chhattisgarh, the Prime Minister will dedicate 130 PM Shri schools in 29 districts of the state.
Realizing the dream of housing for all, 3 lakh beneficiaries will have their ‘Griha Pravesh’ (housewarming ceremony) under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G).
Raipur, March 29, 2025 / Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will visit Chhattisgarh on March 30, 2025. During this time, he will inaugurate and perform the ground-breaking ceremony for important development projects in Mohbhatta village, Bilaspur district. Prime Minister Shri Modi will arrive at Raipur Airport at 2:30 PM by Air Force plane. From Raipur Airport, he will depart for Mohbhatta, Bilaspur by helicopter at 2:35 PM and reach the meeting place at 3:30 PM and participate in the ground-breaking and inauguration program of various projects from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM. After the program, the Prime Minister will depart for Raipur from Mohbhatta helipad at 4:45 PM and reach Raipur Airport at 5:25 PM. After this, he will leave for Delhi by Air Force plane at 5:30 PM.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone and dedicate to the nation several development projects related to the power, oil and gas, rail, road, education and housing sectors worth more than ₹33,700 crore in Mohbhatta village, Bilaspur district on March 30th.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is committed to improving the power sector across the country. Accordingly, several steps will be taken to provide affordable and reliable power and make Chhattisgarh self-reliant in power generation. He will lay the foundation stone of NTPC’s Sipat Super Thermal Power Project Stage-III (1x800MW), located in Bilaspur district, at a cost of more than ₹9,790 crore. This pit-head project is based on state-of-the-art ultra-supercritical technology with high power generation efficiency. He will commence work on the first super critical thermal power project (2X660MW) of Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Limited (CSPGCL) at a cost of more than ₹15,800 crore. He will also dedicate to the nation three power transmission projects of Powergrid under the Western Region Expansion Scheme (WRES) worth more than ₹560 crore.
In line with India’s net-zero carbon emission goals, reducing air pollution and providing clean energy solutions, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL)’s City Gas Distribution (CGD) project in Korea, Surajpur, Balrampur and Sarguja districts. This includes more than 200 kilometers of high pressure pipeline and more than 800 kilometers of MDPE (Medium Density Polyethylene) pipeline and several CNG dispensing outlets costing more than ₹1,285 crore. He will also lay the foundation stone of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL)’s 540 kilometer long Visakh-Raipur Pipeline (VRPL) project, costing more than ₹2210 crore. The capacity of this multi-product (petrol, diesel, kerosene) pipeline will be more than 3 million metric tons per year.
Focusing on improving connectivity in the region, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of seven railway projects with a total length of 108 kilometers and dedicate to the nation three railway projects with a total length of 111 kilometers, costing more than ₹2,690 crore. He will flag off the MEMU train service in the Abhanpur-Raipur section via Mandir Hasaud. He will also dedicate to the nation 100 percent electrification of the Indian Railways rail network in Chhattisgarh. These projects will reduce congestion, improve connectivity and promote social and economic development throughout the region.
