Security forces killed Naxalites in an encounter, recovered weapons, soldiers crossed the swollen river and completed the operation

Dantewada. There was an encounter between security forces and Naxalites in South Bastar today. One Maoist was killed in this. Security forces recovered Naxalite material including weapons. The soldiers carried out the operation by crossing the overflowing Indravati river.

In fact, the security forces had received information about the presence of 10-15 armed Maoists in the jungle hills around village Ikeli, Nelgoda Tumnar under the police station Geedam area of ​​​​South Bastar Dantewada. Based on the information, DRG Bastar Fighters of District Dantewada conducted a Naxal patrol search operation in the area. Without caring for their lives, the soldiers crossed the river and carried out this operation due to the fast flowing Indravati river.

During the operation, Maoists opened heavy fire on the team of DRG Bastar Fighters with the intention of causing harm. The security forces took charge and retaliated. After the firing stopped, the body of a Maoist was recovered along with weapons and Naxal material during the search of the spot. Identification process was carried out for the killed Maoist, who was probably a member of Platoon 16.
