The ‘Healthy Mother-Healthy Child’ campaign was launched in Jashpur district with a commitment to eradicate malnutrition, in collaboration with IIT Bombay.
Raipur, January 16, 2025 / The optimal health of mothers and children will be the foundation of the state’s progress and prosperity. The optimal health of mothers and children is the most important priority of Chhattisgarh’s welfare state. Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Say stated this while launching the ‘Healthy Mother-Healthy Child’ campaign under the IIT Bombay-Jashpur Nutrition Mission, with the assistance of IIT Bombay, at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office in Bagia, Jashpur district yesterday.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Say launched the ‘Healthy Mother-Healthy Child’ campaign in Jashpur district to improve the nutritional levels of pregnant mothers and children.
Under this campaign, jointly run by the Health Department and the Women and Child Development Department, more than 9500 health and Anganwadi workers are fully prepared to take care of the nutrition and health of mothers and children after receiving online nutrition training through IIT Bombay. Under the campaign, more than 300 master trainers will provide continuous training to the field workers of the Health Department and the Women and Child Development Department in the district. The main objective of this initiative is to completely eliminate malnutrition in Jashpur district and improve the health of mothers and children. The campaign aims to free pregnant mothers, lactating mothers, and children up to 6 years of age from malnutrition. It specifically focuses on breastfeeding, nutritious food, and supplementary nutrition. Through this initiative, pregnant mothers will be given information about proper nutrition, so that children can become physically and mentally healthy.
Chief Minister Shri Say praised the ‘Healthy Mother-Healthy Child’ campaign, stating that this initiative will increase awareness of health and nutrition in the district, and will also help in eliminating malnutrition and improving the health of pregnant mothers, lactating mothers, and children up to 6 years of age.
