Demand for closure of schools in view of extreme cold: Union

Ranchi: All Jharkhand Primary Teachers Association Jharkhand State Chief Spokesperson Naseem Ahmed said that a demand has been made to close the primary and middle school schools of the state for a week because the cold wave has increased significantly since last four days. Children are more affected by cold and fog. In almost all the districts of the state the temperature is 5 degrees and in some places the temperature is 0.5 degrees including 1 and 2. Many students are falling ill. Especially the primary children are suffering from fever, cough and vomiting. This is a big problem for primary children. The temperature is decreasing day by day. This year the temperature is continuously decreasing even more as compared to last year. In such a situation, there is a need to save the maternal and child’s health. Keeping this in mind, the school should be closed for a week or the timing should be changed from 10 am to 2 pm.
