IDUKKI: The Kerala Forest Department has arrested 5 males for allegedly looking a leopard and consuming its meat.

The incident came about within the Mankulam area of the Idukki district on January 20.

The accused recognized as Vinod, Kuriakose, Binu, Kunjappan, and Vincent have been arrested by the Mankulam forest vary officer Udhaya Suriyan.

Suriyan stated Vinod had saved a snare — a lure to hunt wild animals — round his home, which is positioned close to a forest.

After the leopard fell into the lure, Vinod and different killed the animal, cooked its meat and consumed it, the forest officer stated.

He added the accused saved apart the animal’s tooth, nails and pores and skin, as they needed to promote them.
