Five youths in automobile die after head-on collision with lorry on poorly lit stretch in Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Five automobile passengers from Kollam died in a crash after their automobile had a head-on collision with a lorry ferrying fish close to Thottakkadu in Kallambalam police station limits on Tuesday evening.

The police stated the deceased have been recognized as Sudheesh S, 25, of Chirakkara; Arun, 30, of Chirakkarathazham;  R Rajeev, 33, of Chirakkara; Vishnu, 29, of Edavattom, and Soorya Udayakumar, 28, of Chirakkarathazham.

Kallambalam police stated the accident occurred by 10.30 pm on a poorly lit stretch of the National Highway. The automobile was heading in direction of Thiruvananthapuram, whereas the lorry that was registered in Tamil Nadu was shifting in the other way.

The cause for the accident is but to be ascertained, the police stated. The police added that there have been no eye-witnesses when the crash occurred and they’re scouring the CCTV visuals obtainable to test what went flawed.

Two folks died on the spot, whereas the remaining have been pulled out of the mangled stays and moved to close by hospitals. However, their lives couldn’t be saved.

The automobile was totally gutted within the hearth that erupted after the collision.
