Kerala: Air India Express flight makes emergency touchdown in Kozhikode following hearth warning

KOZHIKODE: An Air India Express flight to Kuwait, which took off from the close by Karipur airport on Friday morning with 17 passengers and 6 crew made a “precautionary” touchdown shortly after take-off after a fireplace alarm went off within the cargo part, airport sources stated.

Airport Director-in cost, Muhammed Sahid informed P T I that every one the passengers and crew on board the flight IX 393 are protected.

The flight had taken off at 08.38 AM and landed safely by 9.11 AM.

After the alarm went off, the pilot selected to return and the plane landed safely, AIE sources stated, including on investigation, it was discovered that it was a false alarm.

The plane continues to be below investigation and alternate preparations are being made for the passengers, the sources added.
