Kerala CM would possibly go to Cuba after US journey; Centre’s nod sought

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan would possibly go to Cuba after attending the Loka Kerala Sabha regional conference inside the US in June. The authorities will search the Centre’s permission for the journey and the dates will doubtless be finalised accordingly, sources acknowledged. 

Recently, Pinarayi known as off his go to to the UAE scheduled from May 7 to 11 after the Centre denied permission. The Ministry of External Affairs acknowledged the funding meeting inside the UAE was not an event befitting the CM’s participation.

The Loka Kerala Sabha conference and public meeting is scheduled to be held in New York from June 9 to 11. A seven-member delegation, along with Finance Minister Ok N Balagopal, Speaker A N Shamseer and chief secretary V P Joy will accompany the CM on the US journey, sources acknowledged. 

The CM will doubtless be part of a six-member delegation visiting Cuba. The journey is tentatively scheduled from June 13 to fifteen.
