From the 20-member Pinarayi cabinet, 11 ministers and one ex-minister (KT Jaleel who resigned after the election concluded) contested. Of them, just one misplaced. The Congress-led UDF did not upset the LDF applecart, whereas the NDA too carried out a lot worse than it anticipated.
