Kerala govt proclaims reservation for transgender college students in nursing programs

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala authorities has introduced its choice to grant reservation to transgender college students pursuing nursing programs within the state.
Making the announcement, Health Minister Veena George stated one seat every can be reserved for the TG members within the BSc nursing and normal nursing programs from now onwards.
“This is for the first time in the history (of the state) that reservation has been granted for transgenders in the field of nursing”, she stated in an announcement right here.
The state authorities has been taking nice initiatives for the upliftment of the marginalised neighborhood and the reservation within the nursing sector is a part of such efforts, she stated.
The reservation is envisaged to make sure the illustration of the neighborhood members within the nursing sector as effectively, the minister added.
