Kerala police arrest man who tied BJP flag on Gandhi bust, declare he’s mentally unstable

PALAKKAD: The Kerala police on Wednesday arrested the person who tied the BJP flag on the bust of Mahatma Gandhi contained in the Palakkad municipality premises.

Bijesh, 29, a local of Kalimadaparambu in Thirunellai, Palakkad, was arrested from his home for his function within the incident.

Police mentioned he was a mentally unstable individual. However, the BJP contested the police declare.

BJP district president E Krishnadas, who can also be the vice-chairman of the Palakkad municipality, mentioned he met the person on the police station and spoke to him for quarter-hour. The accused answered all of the questions he requested, Krishnadas mentioned, including that he gathered from the discuss that the person was mentally very steady.

According to him, the accused gave the impression to be coming from a poor monetary background.

“A person scales the compound wall (of the municipal office), walks to the bust, climbs the ladder, and ties the flag to the bust of Gandhi. He later comes down the ladder and looks at the bust to see if the job was done satisfactorily. How can such a person be mentally unstable?” he requested.

He alleged that the police try to guard the individuals behind the incident and needed the decision particulars of the accused’s telephone to be revealed and investigated.

“There is a deep-rooted conspiracy in the incident and the perpetrators of the crime should be brought to book,” Krishnadas mentioned.
