Lotteries division disburses Rs 7,000 crore as prizes yearly, says Kerala FM Balagopal

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Lotteries Department disburses Rs 7,000 crore as prizes to winners yearly, Finance Minister Ok N Balagopal said on Wednesday. He made the assertion whereas inaugurating the first teaching programme for lottery winners organised by the division.

The minister moreover highlighted that since 2012, the division has supplied Rs 1,732 crore to the federal authorities’s Karunya Arogya Suraksha Padhathi (KASP) healthcare scheme from the earnings of the Karunya and Karunya Plus lotteries. Additionally, the division provides employment options to spherical two lakh of us straight and never straight. The Lottery Welfare Fund Board takes care of the welfare of brokers and salespersons.
