TPR in Kozhikode touches 21%; Section 144 imposed in containment zones

KOZHIKODE: The district registered a staggering 21.20 per cent in check positivity price (TPR) on Friday with 1,560 new Covid-19 instances. The TPR determine is the best one and the single-day instances mark the second largest because the outbreak of the pandemic. For the previous six days, TPR has repeatedly hovered above 12% within the district and the variety of instances crossed 1,000 every day besides Tuesday.
“The wards of LSG bodies where more cases were reported have been declared as containment zones and Section 144 has been imposed there,” mentioned district collector S Sambasiva Rao. Section 144 has been imposed in 108 wards of 32 LSG our bodies within the district since April 14.
On Friday alone, 37 wards of 18 LSG our bodies have been declared containment zones. As per the order, any kind of gathering in private and non-private areas in containment zones is banned. Strict authorized motion can be taken in opposition to those that violate restrictions, the collector mentioned.
SECTION 144 IN WAYANAD ALSOWayanad district collector Adeela Abdulla on Friday imposed prohibitory order underneath Section 144 of CrPC throughout the limits of 10 native our bodies within the district within the wake of a fast rise in Covid-19 instances. As per the order, restrictions might be in drive in Kaniyambetta, Tirunelli, Nenmeni, Ambalavayal, Thariyod, Pozhuthana, Vengapalli and Meppady panchayats until April 23, mentioned the collector.
