Women, youngsters block street towards proposed sewage therapy plant in Kerala

KOZHIKODE: Local residents, together with ladies and kids, squatted on the street and blocked site visitors as a part of an agitation towards the proposed sewage therapy plant at Kothi, a thickly populated space, on this northern district on Thursday.
The agitation intensified after the Municipal Corporation resumed its work to assemble a compound wall for the proposed plant.
Several protesters have been arrested and faraway from the spot forcefully by the police after they tried to cease the Corporation officers and employees who reached the location in reference to the development.
An aged man, who was collaborating within the protest, collapsed on the street after struggling some uneasiness and police later shifted him from the world.
Tension prevailed within the place after the police tried to take away by pressure the protesters together with ladies, who blocked the street to the challenge website and raised slogans.
The agitators alleged that the police used pressure even towards a baby who took half within the protest alongside along with his mom.
A lady protester stated they’d not backtrack from this protest at any value.
“We have young children. We cannot let a sewage treatment plant come up in this populated area. If it comes, we cannot sell our property. Our daughters will not get good marriage alliances. We will continue the fight even if we lose our lives,” she stated.
