40 students fell ill after consuming Albendazole medicine in Model School, admitted to Sidhi District Hospital

After taking the pill, the students started vomiting and feeling dizzy. The condition of the students deteriorated 15 minutes after taking the medicine. Education officers and doctors took stock of the situation.

Naiduniya representative, Sidhi. More than 40 students suddenly fell ill after consuming Albendazole pesticide in the district’s Model School Khajuri. They started feeling dizzy and started vomiting. After this, all the children were hurriedly brought from the school to the District Hospital Sidhi, where the students are undergoing treatment.

Ill after consuming anti-worm medicine

Actually the whole matter is of Tuesday, where at around 3:30 pm, students were being given the anti-worm medicine Albendazole in Model School Khajuri. The medicine was sent to the school from the district hospital. After this, students studying from class 6 to 12 were given this medicine. The condition of the students started deteriorating within 15 minutes of taking the medicine.

All of them were brought to the district hospital for treatment, where all of them are undergoing treatment. As soon as the information was received, the entire staff of the district including District Education Officer Dr. Premlal Mishra, Police Station Incharge Kotwali Abhishek Upadhyay, social worker and Mishra Nursing Home Director Dr. Anoop Mishra and all the doctors of the area reached the spot. Immediate action has been taken for treatment. Dr. Anoop Mishra has said that the condition of the students is stable at the moment. Treatment is still going on.

District Education Officer Dr Premlal Mishra has said that today is anti-worm day. On 10th September, there is a provision to administer Albendazole to all the students in all the schools of the district. This medicine was received from the district hospital where the medicine was administered in the presence of school teachers. After this, the condition of the students deteriorated and they were admitted for treatment.

When the police station in-charge Abhishek Upadhyay was talked to, he told that the Dial 100 team had received the information. When they reached the spot, the condition of the students had deteriorated. The condition of all is stable and all are undergoing treatment.
