Alert on possibility of Chandipura virus reaching Madhya Pradesh from Gujarat via Bhind

Naiduniya representative, Bhind. An alert has been issued in Madhya Pradesh regarding the Chandipura virus spreading rapidly in Gujarat. Especially in Bhind, the health department has been asked to be fully alert from the government level, because there is a lot of movement between Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat through Bhind every day.

Bhind is a major medium for transportation between the two states and thousands of people travel to and from each other’s states daily by several buses.

After the state government’s alert, Bhind’s health department has issued an advisory and created special wards in Bhind district hospital. Adequate arrangements have also been made for testing. Instructions have been given that suspected patients should be kept there and tested.

Four cases have surfaced in MP

There is an alert about this virus in the state because four cases of this virus have been reported in MP so far. Bhind’s District Malaria Officer DK Sharma said that blood samples of suspected patients will be sent to the virology laboratory in Pune.

A separate room has been set up in the district hospital to collect samples of suspected patients. Sharma said that a patient infected with Chandipura virus gets high fever.
