Water on the first floor of a 4 storey hospital building
Highlights
New hospital in Gohad is being built in flood affected area. Hospital is being built at a cost of Rs 16 crore. Wrong place for hospital, engineers admit
Anil Tomar, Gohad: The structure of the new building of a four-storey hospital near the Baseli Dam in Gohad has been completed. Currently, the first floor of the new building is filled with water. Due to the under-construction hospital being in the submerged area of the dam, the hospital management and patients may have to suffer the consequences in the future. The work of building a 100-bed hospital was started on 29 September 2020 near the Baseli Dam.
The officials did not pay attention
The construction of the new hospital is being done at a cost of Rs 16.68 crore. 15 hectares of land has been identified. The land that has been identified for the construction of the hospital is in the flood-affected area, yet the senior administrative officials of that time ignored this fact and gave permission for the construction.
The hospital was to be built at another place first
Earlier, the land lying behind Gohad Chauraha, Mau Road and the present Gohad Hospital was inspected for construction of the new hospital building. But the then collector, Gohad SDM and CMHO rejected all these places and permitted construction work to be carried out in the flood-affected area.
A new hospital building is being constructed in the flood affected area of Gohad. I do not have any information in this regard. Something can be said clearly only after getting the information.
Sanjeev Srivastava, Collector.
Now even engineers are admitting their mistake
After the water filled at the place where the construction of the hospital building is going on in Gohad, the departmental engineers are now admitting their mistake of not selecting the right land for the hospital. Let us tell you that before constructing any hospital, a proper survey is done, but in Gohad, negligence was shown in this regard.
