Anuppur Rape Case: Victim gets justice, uncle and father-in-law sentenced to 20 years in rape case

Nyamuddin Ali, Anuppur: District and Sessions Court has sentenced uncle and father-in-law to 20 years imprisonment in the case of rape of daughter-in-law. Also, the co-accused has been sentenced to one year rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1,000.

Giving information about the court’s decision, the Public Prosecutor said that on September 20, 2020, the victim was working in the fields with her 17-year-old son. Meanwhile the son left from there for some work. At the same time, accused Girja Singh Gond came there and molested the woman and committed rape. Girja Singh seems to be the uncle and father-in-law of the woman in Gond relationship. Meanwhile, when the woman’s son ran to intervene, the accused Girja and his brother beat him up.

When the woman’s husband also came to the spot after hearing the news of the assault, the accused fled from there. When the victim lodged a complaint at Kotwali Anuppur police station, the police registered a crime and took the matter into investigation. After investigation by the police, the charge sheet was presented in the court. Where the court found both the accused guilty and sentenced them.
