Chhindwara on Lokayukta’s radar: Secretary caught taking bribe of Rs 12.5 thousand, contractor had complained

Sharad Pathak, Chhindwara. Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh is running on the radar of Lokayukta these days. Lokayukta has been conducting raids here for the past few days, but still the corrupt are not shying away from taking bribes. Today, Gram Panchayat Rawanwada Panchayat Secretary of Parasia Tehsil has been caught taking a bribe of Rs 12 thousand 500. A contractor of the area had complained about the accused secretary to the Lokayukta.

According to the information, Niaz Ahmed Khan had complained to Jabalpur Lokayukta Superintendent of Police. In which it was told that he built 6 culverts in Gram Panchayat Rawanwada. Along with this, work of laying water pipeline was done. The total cost of these works was Rs 90 thousand. In lieu of passing this bill, Gram Panchayat Rawanwada Sarpanch Arun Kumar Navet and Secretary Rajkumar Soni had demanded a bribe of Rs 20 thousand.

Jabalpur Lokayukta Police verified this complaint and taking action on Monday, caught Gram Panchayat Rawanwada Secretary Rajkumar Soni red handed while taking bribe of Rs 12,500 on the road near Gram Panchayat Bhawan. At present, the Lokayukta police is busy taking action against the accused secretary under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
