Naiduniya representative, Gwalior. The reality of the state government’s mid-day meal scheme in the city’s schools was exposed in front of the minister on Thursday. The energy minister had come to attend a religious event in the DRP line in Gwalior suburb on Thursday.
When he came out from here, he saw PM Shri Government Higher Secondary School nearby and went inside. Here the school children were having lunch under the mid-day meal scheme, where the Energy Minister also sat down to eat. When the food was served to the Minister, he was stunned.
There was no potato in the soyabean-potato curry and the vegetable was so thin that he was shocked. Similarly, the minister got angry after seeing water in the dal. He immediately called the District Panchayat CEO Vivek Kumar and expressed his displeasure. The mid-day meal in-charge reached the spot for investigation. The video of this case is also going viral.
Let us tell you that there are two central kitchens in Gwalior for mid-day meals. One kitchen is on Shivpuri Link Road where the contract is with Vidisha based organisation Varnita.
The second kitchen is located at the old cantonment where the contract is with Sushila Devi Sanstha. Food is sent to the DRP line area from the old cantonment kitchen.
Soybean-potato curry, dal and roti were provided in Thursday’s menu, but the quality of the same was revealed to the regional MLA and minister.
