On Saturday, while checking the gas pipeline, a massive explosion occurred in the kitchen of the under-construction hotel of ITC in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, due to which fire spread inside. A nearby room was badly damaged due to the explosion in the kitchen pipeline. With the explosion, the gas and fire spread and the employees and laborers working there came under the siege. A female employee died due to severe burn injuries.
The deceased is an employee of ITC company. Eight people are seriously injured in the incident. Everyone has been admitted to the medical hospital. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has announced to provide financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh to the relatives of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each to the injured.
The name of this ITC hotel is Welcome, which was to be inaugurated this month. This hotel situated on Nagpur road was almost ready. Was checking the kitchen’s gas pipeline on Saturday. The pipeline was being checked using nitrogen gas, during which LPG gas leaked from the pipeline. The room was filled with gas. It came in contact with some inflammable material and the fire spread rapidly with an explosion. The employees did not get a chance to recover. He also started suffocating due to the gas. The employees could be evacuated after the police and fire brigade arrived.

The deceased Jagriti Bhavesar (22) was a resident of Nashik, Maharashtra. Abhishek Singh Negi (21), resident of Padul, Uttarakhand, Bhupendra Kumar (20), resident of Bagleshwar, Shyam Singh (35), resident of Palai, Rajasthan, Anil Kumar (28), resident of Jadham, Puneet Singh (21), resident of Agra, Uttar Pradesh, Nityanand Gupta, resident of Kushinagar. (24), Chhindwara resident Sonam Bhavriya (24) and her brother Soham Bhavriya (22) have been injured.
