Naiduniya Representative, Indore. Resident Doctors Association (RDA) and Junior Doctors Association (JDA) have stopped work indefinitely in MY Hospital and related hospitals in protest against the rape and murder of a female doctor in RG Kar Medical College of West Bengal.

In protest against this shameful incident, doctors on Monday took out a candle march from MY Hospital to MGM Medical College campus. Doctors said that we are very upset with the repeated attacks on medical professionals, we have decided to go on strike except for emergency services.

Medical teachers also supported the protest

A call was also made for immediate and strict action against the culprits to prevent such incidents in future. The Madhya Pradesh Progressive Medical Teachers Association has also extended support to the protest.

A female resident doctor was brutally raped and murdered in West Bengal. There is outrage in the whole country against this. In Indore too, doctors expressed their outrage against the incident.

Doctors’ association made this demand

24 hour security: Ensure 24/7 security in all medical colleges to protect medical staff from potential threats. Restricted entry to medical areas: Prevent unauthorized persons from entering doctors’ rooms or seminar halls during duty hours. Provision of on-site meals: Ensure 24-hour food and refreshment facilities within the medical college campus so that doctors do not need to go out. Safe hostel environment: Guarantee a safe and supportive environment on routes between hostels and hospitals.
