Lokayukta Bhopal team caught a clerk red handed taking bribe in BDA office

Bribe was demanded for renewal of house lease. Babu was caught red handed while taking bribe of Rs. 40000. Action is underway under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act.

Bhopal. The team of Lokayukta Bhopal took major action under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Manu Vyas. Babu Sahayak Grade 1 Tarakchand Das posted in the BDA office had demanded a bribe of three lakh 35 thousand rupees from the applicant for renewal of the lease of his house located at Ratnagiri Raisen Road, Piplani.

The applicant farmer was tired of visiting Babu Tarakchand Das for the last 6 months for renewal of lease of his house, but Babu was not doing the work without taking bribe. Distressed, the applicant farmer came to Lokayukta and complained to the Superintendent of Police.

Taking immediate action on the complaint, the team led by Inspector Neelam Patwa on Friday caught BDA’s corrupt Babu Tarachand Das father late Kalipat Das age 58 years Assistant Grade 1 for taking Rs 40000 from the applicant. Tarachand lives in house number 10 in Panchsheel Nagar Bhopal.

Proceedings against the accused Das under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act are ongoing at the BDA office. Other members of the team included Inspector Rajni Tiwari, Inspector Ghanshyam Merscole, Head Constable Ramdas Kurmi, Mukesh Singh, Rajendra Pawan, Neha Pardesi and Constable Manmohan Sahu.
