Mumbai couple including four smugglers arrested, three kilos of MDMA and Dodachura seized, SIT to investigate drugs supply network

Naiduniya Representative, Ratlam: Police has taken major action against drug smuggling and arrested persons including a couple from Mumbai. Three kilos of MDMA (3,4 methyl enedioxy methamphetamine) drugs and one kilo of 898 grams of Dodachura have been seized from them.

During preliminary interrogation, the accused told that a person from Mumbai had given them around Rs 30 lakh and sent them to Ratlam to buy drugs. For the same, they were going to Mumbai after taking the said drugs from a person from Ratlam. The police have not yet disclosed who ordered the drugs and who gave them.

SP Amit Kumar said that as part of the ongoing campaign against drug smuggling, information was received that interstate smugglers were going to supply a large consignment of drugs through Tal police station area of ​​Ratlam district. On information, a blockade was imposed at the passenger waiting room at Doodh Talai Fanta on Nagda-Tal Road.

During the blockade, the main accused Mohammad Nadeem, 27, his wife Saba, 26, alias Fakirunisha, and friends Sultan Ahmed, 27, and Salman Mohammad, 23, were detained and their bags were searched. On searching, they were found to have MDME and Dodachura. After this, all four were arrested and a case was registered against them under Section 8/22, 15 of the NDPS Act. All are residents of Navi Mumbai.

SIT will be formed

SP Amit Kumar told that earlier MDMA drugs were supplied from Mumbai to Ratlam and surrounding areas. Now it is being seen that it is being supplied to Mumbai from Ratlam and surrounding districts like Mandsaur, Neemuch etc. Drugs are not being manufactured in Ratlam or any nearby district.

The arrested accused is a careerist, he was sent from Mumbai to collect drugs. It has also been revealed that the drugs are linked to one in Ratlam. Due to investigation, the names of these two are not being released. Both are being searched. A team will also be sent to Mumbai. A SIT will be formed to investigate the entire matter in detail.

Drugs have already been supplied

Police have come to know that 15-20 days ago, information was also received about the supply of drugs to Mumbai from Javra. This is also being investigated. After going to Mumbai, the police will also find out whether there is any high profile connection with the supply of drugs. Apart from Ratlam, the police have also received information about the drug supply link to Mandsaur, Neemuch, Rajasthan, the police is also investigating who are the people connected to the case and the accused may increase in the case.

Accused on police remand

The police presented the arrested accused Nadeem, Saba, Sultan and Salman in the court and demanded that they be handed over to police remand for questioning. The court has ordered to keep the four accused on police remand till September 8.

The accused are being interrogated about the people who sent them and those who gave them drugs and whether they had taken drugs before etc. Accused Nadeem has a footwear shop in Mumbai. Information will be taken from Mumbai about what Sultan and Salman did and whether the accused have any criminal record.
