Earlier, due to many amendments, the master plan of Bhopal was stuck for 19 years and that of Jabalpur and Indore for three years.

Colony permission under section 16

Till the master plan was implemented in Bhopal, Indore and Jabalpur, permission was being given to develop colonies under Section 16. The Joint Director of Town and Country Investment at the district level had the authority to give permission under Section 16, but the government changed it seven months ago. This authority has been given to the Commissioner of Town and Country Investment. More than 40 applications of colonizers are pending in the state.

Special focus on connecting roads

Metropolitan Region Plan will also be included in the master plan of Bhopal and Indore. Under this, Sehore, Mandideep, Aubedullaganj, Bangrasiya will be included in the master plan in Bhopal. Whereas Pithampur, Dewas and Ujjain will also be included in the master plan of Indore. Special focus will be given on connecting roads.

This is the draft of the new master plan

Under the newly prepared plan, the colonizer will have to create greenery in about one-third of the area after cutting the colony. Apart from this, saplings will have to be planted on both sides of the road and around the boundary wall of the colony. Provision for underground wiring will also be made in the colony, so that trees do not have to be cut.

Market will be prepared for IT park

Cities will include mixed land use. Space will be earmarked for commercial areas in between the main roads. Apart from this, an industrial area without pollution will be decided between two to three kilometers. This will provide employment to the people of the city. A separate market will be created for the IT park, where it will be the responsibility of the colonizer to provide related facilities.

Additional Chief Secretary, Urban Administration and Development Department, Neeraj Mandloi said that the policies implemented by the government are being included in the new draft of the master plan of Bhopal, Indore and Jabalpur. Along with provisions for environment, greenery and high-rise buildings, the Metropolitan Region Plan will also be included.
