Mother Sharda is the goddess of wishes, every wish is fulfilled here. At night, vague sounds keep coming around the hill. When the wish is fulfilled, those words disappear from there.

Naiduniya, Maihar (Navratri 2024 Maihar). It is believed that whatever wish a devotee makes in the court of Mother Goddess, it is definitely fulfilled. Until the vow is fulfilled, the words of the vow made to the Mother Goddess keep resonating on the same hill and when the vow is fulfilled, those words disappear from there. Perhaps this is the reason why vague sounds of some words keep coming around Mata’s hill at night.

The first puja was performed by Adiguru Shankaracharya.

It is said that the first puja was done by Adiguru Shankaracharya. On the basis of some old documents, it is said that the first puja of Maa Sharda was done by Adiguru Shankaracharya. The name of Maihar Mountain is found in the ancient religious scripture “Mahendra”. It has also been mentioned in the Puranas along with other mountains of India.

This temple of Virajin Maa Sharda dates back to 522 BC.

The unreadable inscriptions just below the statue of Maa Sharda also contain many puzzles. This temple of Maa Sharda situated in the pyramidal Trikut mountain is of 522 BC. It is said that on the day of Chaturdashi in 522 BC, Nripal Dev had established Samvedi here, from then onwards the period of worship in Trikut mountain started.
