Now street lights in Indore will switch on and off according to weather, saving Rs 2.72 crore every year

Naiduniya representative, Indore. Street lights across the city will now turn on and off according to the weather. They will be controlled by the Centralized Control Monitoring System (CCMS) under the SCADA system. Information about the low or sufficient light according to the weather will reach the signal control room from the street light and the street light can be turned on or off directly from there. This entire process will take 20 seconds.

There will be information about about 150 street lights on a panel in the control room. This system will also help in preventing electricity theft. As soon as the load on the street light increases, the information will reach the control room. The new system will save about Rs 2 crore 72 lakh per month for the Municipal Corporation.

On Sunday, the electricity department of the Municipal Corporation did a live demonstration of the Centralized Control Monitoring System (CCMS) under the SCADA system for the lighting of the city’s streets, colonies and gardens. On this occasion, Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava, MP Shankar Lalwani, Electricity Department Committee In-charge Jitendra Yadav Jitu, MLA Ramesh Mendola, Mahendra Hardia, Madhu Verma, Golu Shukla, Mayor Council members were present.

It will be fully implemented in four months.

Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava and electricity in-charge Jeetu Yadav said that in the next four months, the electricity system of the entire city will be put on a digital platform. This system is a better step towards making Indore a digital Indore. The CCMS system will save about Rs 2.72 crore in electricity expenditure.

This system can be controlled through laptop and mobile. Through this, all the street lights of the city can be controlled from the control room, laptop and mobile through CCMS (Centralized Control Monitoring System) panel in the city’s colonies and parks.

Will be able to control the burning of street lights during the day

Additional Commissioner Narendranath Pandey said that the street lights that are lit during the day can be controlled through SCADA system. Apart from this, if the street lights are off in any area, its information will also reach the central control room.

The corporation has done this

There are about 1 lakh 42 thousand lights installed in the city. The load of the corporation with traditional lights was 10216 kilowatts which has now reduced to 4039. Due to reduction in load of 6177 kilowatts, the corporation is saving Rs 22.66 lakh per month.
