State Bureau, Naiduniya, Bhopal: The state government will provide coaching for engineering, law and medical courses to the meritorious children of tendu leaf collectors of Madhya Pradesh. For this, coaching allowance will also be given to meritorious children. Madhya Pradesh State Minor Forest Produce Association has made these new provisions while expanding its Eklavya Education Development Scheme.

Under this, from this year onwards, the meritorious children of Tendu leaf collectors, Phad Munshis and managers of Primary Minor Forest Produce Committees will be given allowance for coaching of professional courses like Engineering and Law (LA) and Medical if they pass 12th with more than 60 percent marks. .

Eight thousand rupees per month for 12 months

Coaching allowance of Rs 8,000 per month will be given for 12 months for Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior and Rewa divisional headquarters, Rs 6,000 per month for other divisional headquarters and Rs 3,500 per month for all other districts except divisional districts. .

Small Forest Produce Association provides financial assistance in studies from ninth to graduation.

From the year 2022-23, under Eklavya Education Scheme, Rs 15 thousand for class 9th and 10th students, Rs 18 thousand for class 12th students, Rs 25 thousand for students pursuing non-technical graduate degree and Rs 25 thousand for students of professional courses. Provides scholarship of Rs 60 thousand per year. Now help will also be provided in coaching to get admission in degree courses like engineering, law and medical.

41 lakh tendu leaf collectors from 16 lakh families in Madhya Pradesh

There are 16 lakh families collecting forest produce and tendu leaves in Madhya Pradesh and out of these, there are a total of 41 lakh tendu leaf collectors. Most of these tendu leaf collectors are tribal families who live in villages adjacent to the forest and are dependent only on forest wealth. Governor Mangubhai Patel has also been giving guidelines from time to time for the upliftment of tribal families. It is on the initiative of the Governor that the Forest Department has taken initiative in this direction.
