Naiduniya representative, Panna. A case has come to light in Panna district hospital of Madhya Pradesh where a young man Raja Khan who came to donate blood to a Hindu woman Rama Sonkar was asked about his religion and was turned away without taking the blood. However, the hospital’s civil surgeon Alok Gupta says that later it was found out that the young man who came to donate blood was a friend of Suresh Sonkar and hence the blood was taken.

Actually, Suresh’s mother Rama Sonkar was admitted due to ill health. During this time, when blood was needed, Suresh called his friend Raja Khan to donate blood. The matter came to light after the video went viral on social media on Wednesday. It was told that this video and incident is of 22 June 2024.

The patient’s son made the allegation

Suresh Sonkar alleged that the blood bank technician Ravikant Sharma asked the name of Raja Khan, a young man who had come to donate blood to his mother. After this, he was told that the person who was donating blood was a Muslim and the person to whom the blood was to be transfused was a Hindu, so the blood could not be taken. Suresh alleged that the technician drove him away from there.

Complaint has been made to the civil surgeon

A complaint was made to Civil Surgeon Alok Gupta in the matter. Despite this, no action has been taken so far except giving notice. Action is pending with CMHO. Civil Surgeon Alok Gupta said that a case of a lab technician saying some things about Hindus and Muslims had come to light. The notice was also answered.

Later, blood was taken

Gupta says that in fact, many times professional donors are active in the hospital, so people associated with the blood bank make inquiries. Later when it was found out that the donor was a friend of that young man, we took his blood. Gupta said that the case is pending with the CMHO for action.

Raja and mother’s group was one

Suresh Sonkar told that in the month of June, his mother’s health suddenly deteriorated. The doctor had expressed the need for blood transfusion. Raja and his mother had the same blood group. After the initial examination, they reached the blood bank to donate blood.

Blood can be transfused after one and a half to two hours

Sharad Jain, retired blood bank in-charge of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College Hospital, clarified. He said that whenever a blood donor comes, we first ask him all the general questions. Like how many members are there in the family, where is the house, etc., so that we can know who the blood donor is. Currently, after the blood test, blood can be transfused to the victim within one and a half to two hours. Efforts are made to transfuse the blood present in the blood bank first so that new blood can remain in stock. Anyway, if the donor is professional, then his HB does not often come more than 12 and a half. It can also be known by looking at the vein. There is only a number on the blood bag, not the name of the donor. If the HB of a professional donor is correct and all the tests are negative, then blood can be taken.
