Keonjhar: The Keonjhar district and periods courtroom on Thursday awarded 20 years rigorous imprisonment to 3 individuals for allegedly gang raping a girl in Sundergarh district in 2017.
The Court has slapped a high quality of Rs 5,000 every on all of the accused. One of the accused has additionally been awarded an extra sentence of three months and high quality for threatening the rape survivor, official sources stated.
As per studies, the gang rape was initially registered beneath Bisra police limits in Sundergarh district. But on account of advocates’ strike, the case was transferred to Keonjhar district and periods courtroom for trial.
The trial within the case had begun in 2019, sources stated.
The accused, who’ve been awarded 20 years of life imprisonment, have been recognized as Rajesh Lakra, Lala Gudia and Mehmia Lakhra.
Earlier the sufferer had alleged earlier than police that each one the three accused gang raped her after dragging her to an remoted place beneath Bisra police limits in 2017. The sufferer was reportedly returning house from an agricultural area.
