65 arrested for attacking cops

CUTTACK: Madhupatna police on Thursday arrested 65 individuals together with 16 ladies for attacking Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) officers and police personnel at Nuapada Balisahi.
The accused had been concerned in assaulting CMC officers and police personnel after a brief tent housing slum dwellers for Taladanda canal street enlargement work, was uprooted as a consequence of nor’wester that battered town on Tuesday afternoon.
With their belongings broken, a few of them together with two youngsters sustained accidents. Irked over this, the slum dwellers vandalised a police van and attacked police personnel and CMC officers who had been on the spot to take inventory of the state of affairs.
