79 Odia Migrant Labourers Rescued From Brick Kiln In Telangana | OTV News

Bhubaneswar: As many as 79 migrant labourers together with 21 minor and 4 pregnant girls belonging to Odisha, who had been allegedly tortured in a brick kiln in Sangareddy district of Telangana, had been rescued and despatched to their hometowns on Friday.
The labourers, who had been rescued with the assistance of a social activist, belong to Nuapada and Bolangir districts, stated reviews.
The social activist, Ranjeeta Priyadarshini of Bargarh district acquired the knowledge over cellphone by some labourers engaged within the brick kiln. They informed that a few of their co-workers are affected by excessive fever and chilly and regardless of admitting them in a hospital, the proprietor was torturing and forcing them to work within the brick kiln at Annaram village underneath Gummadidala police limits in Sangareddy district.
Ranjeeta, who can be a practising lawyer of Orissa High Court, knowledgeable the matter to the Chief Ministers of Odisha and Telangana, and likewise the district collectors of Sangareddy, Nuapada and Bolangir by means of mails.
“I received a call from the migrants workers who narrated their ordeal to me. They told me that they were assaulted and forced to work in inhumane condition. Later, I immediately wrote e-mails to the CMs of Odisha and Telanagana and forwarded the copies to the district Collectors of Sangareddy, Nuapada and Bolangir. I am happy I could help them,” stated Ranjeeta.
The involved administration and Sangareddy Police then swung into motion and rescued the 79 migrants from the brick kiln. They had been later ship to Odisha in buses.
