BHUBANESWAR: Union Minister of Mines and Coal Pralhad Joshi on Thursday knowledgeable the Lok Sabha that 590 tasks have been undertaken beneath setting preservation and air pollution management and 986 tasks beneath the healthcare sector in Odisha until December 2021.

Replying to a query from BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi, Joshi stated setting preservation, air pollution management in addition to healthcare are the excessive precedence areas of Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana (PMKKKY) beneath which tasks are carried out utilizing District Mineral Foundations (DMF) funds.

He stated the security, well being and welfare of staff employed in mines are regulated by the Mines Act, 1952. Further, needed provisions have been made within the Metalliferous Mines Regulations 1961 and the Coal Mines Regulations 2017 for the safety of miners from mud, smoke and noxious gases whereas working inside the mine boundary.
